A 17th Century Oak Monks Chair.

A good country look this one ,the chair with bobbin turned supports with two planked seat over a scalloped frieze united by a  stretcher base .

The top is constructed with three single planks with a slight bow and braces to the underside which act as the mechanism for tilting it into a chair.

The top has a thin replacement,the stretchers are later it has had a hard life but has been restored back to a piece of furniture that can be used daily.
