I am pleased to be able to offer for sale a Rare 13th Century Medieval carved figure depicting The Madonna.

Recently purchased from a private collection.

This French example stands at 23" and displays the characteristics of early Medieval carving of  large V folds to the cloth and almond eyes.

She has suffered from old worm to her back that has been stabilized with hard wax and shows signs of beetle dammage , she has lost her hand and of course the baby christ.

But for an example of this age she has done well i think.
