17th Century Carved Oak Bible box.

Belonging to M W in the year 1645.

The front carved with a pair of urns with a central carved heart, foliage sprays and a central tulip with the initials MW 1645 below the lockplate.The front and back board both with scoop carved edges,the top with a moulded edge.

This box has lived hard and the top has recently been braced to the underside with modern hinges replaced and the base board has been nibbled with a loss to the facing front right hand corner.

But the colour is the best a Freshly opened Conker and dated and initialed what more can i say.....
