My mother lives in Ticehurst so we are currently looking at archives and are being assisted by the local history society to confirm this ,we have found four John Kemps living in Ticehurst from 1650-1810 but have not found out there occupation as of yet.

Ticehurst and the surrounding area have a lot of old foundries so hopefully i will be able to confirm that it is ,if anybody looking can help me at all i would be grateful.

30 cms high

Anyway a great pot and rare to find one of this size in bronze ,a similar pot but only 46cms across sold as lot No 223 in The Clive Sherwood Collection 2002 and lot No 329 in the David Little Collection 2001.

In untouched condition with a fantastic green Verdigris all over.

Standing on three legs with a central band and with signs of a removed patch over a cast hole which also has good colour.
