17th Century Carved Oak Desk Box .

A good country example ,the front carved in a formal manor with the initials EA under the lockplate and the sides in a light foliate design which is such a contrast to the front but works.

The interior with two compartments ,the draws unfortunately long gone.

I am sure that by now you will know i have an addiction to boxes and this one i thought was so unusual to the norm.

Good colour original lockplate and hinges a small replacement to the front of the base board and later book rest to the lid.
