17th Century Carved Oak Bible Box.

The front and sides carved with lunettes with an infill of punched staers and quatrefoils.

A good box with an even colour and patina.

The original wire hinges have snapped and are replaced with 18th century hinges and the lockplate and hasp have been cleaned at some stage.
