An Honest 18th Century Hearth Chair Of Primitive Form.

Constructed completely of Ash of simple design.

The slab seat wih chamfered edges and a glorious grain pattern formed through the years of continuious daily use,the back with six Ash sticks staved into a curved Ash crest rail and four Ash octagonal Legs again staved into the seat, what is nice here is the fact that the back legs are still octagonal but the front are now round with the wear of all these feet and boots that have rubbed against them over time, the top 1" of the front legs are still octagonal prooving that although heavily worn they have never been changed.

I particularly admire the colour and grain of the Ash that was chosen for this simple chair and that it has survived in such original condition.

18.5" wide

13" high to seat

26" high to back
