A late 16th century English oak board chest of small proportions of simple plank construction.

The front ,back and lid all have a double moulded edge and the sides have shamfered stiles and the base board is pegged .

Great colour with signs of old paint ,the back board showing most of the original undercoat.

This is a very sturdy chest in untouched condition except for the top snipe hinges are period replacements.
